Duke Wins an Instant Classic

Tre Jones & Jordan Goldwire, each having 13 points lead the 7th ranked Duke Blue Devils to a conference win over 8th ranked Florida State Seminoles 70-65 in a defensive game.

It was back and forth the first half as Duke was only up by 1 with a combined 55 points between the two teams in the first half. It was this close for the majority of the game and Duke pulled away in the end to give the Blue Devils the victory. This victory should be a huge momentum builder for the Blue Devils with only 7 games remaining until the conference tournament, all against conference opponents such as NC State twice, North Carolina, and the reigning champions Virginia.

Duke goes to 21-3 with a 11-2 conference record which keeps them second in the conference standings only behind Louisville. They got the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at home with both teams trying to make a push towards the tournament.

Duke Wins With 2 Buzzer Beaters

North Carolina controlled most of this game as they were in the lead for the majority of the game. They were up by 9 at the half with a score of 44-35. Things were not looking good for the Blue Devils until there was a few minutes left in the game, when Duke came back to get the game close with less than a minute to go. Tre Jones gets the ball off and makes a shot to tie the game at 84 to send it to overtime.

Overtime had a very similar ending. The game was tied at 96 with 6 seconds to go, Tre Jones shoots it up towards the basket and Wendell Moore tips it in to lead the Blue Devils in a huge conference win over the Tar Heels.

This makes the record improve to 20-3 and conference record of 10-2. Big test coming up as they square off with 8th ranked Florida State Seminoles.

Duke Survives Boston College

Tre Jones & Vernon Carey lead the Blue Devils with a combined 35 points to survive the Boston College Eagles 63-55 on Tuesday night. It wasn’t an easy matchup for Duke as there were moments that the Blue Devils could of lost this game and have gotten their fourth loss of the season.

Boston College had a three point lead heading into the locker room, they were leading 24-21. Duke came out in the 2nd half to score 42 points to rally past the eagles to win the game. Does this game show an improvement in Boston College or a little downfall in the Blue Devils.

Duke improves to a 19-3 overall record, 9-2 conference record, as they look to make a statement on the road this Saturday night against their biggest rival, the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels are struggling this season, so this could be a big game for Duke to rebound.
